Comment:This graffiti has a very special meaning in my city (Funes) because it's dedicated to a guy (Valentin, or as we all knew him "Valu") who was a diehard fan of a football club named CARC (Club Atletico Rosario Central) that passed away in a car accident. The tragedy occurred on 2008 when CARC had to play a match in a nearby city, Valu and his father were supposed to attend that match, but unfortunately when they were on their way to the stadium, driving on the highway, the car overturned and because Valu didn't have his seatbelt on he passed through the front window of the car and it, while it was rolling, fell over him. The blue and yellow stripes represent the colours of CARC. From left to right: Pili (member of the subsidiary Mario Alberto Kempes, related to the football club CARC), Alberto Olmedo (famous Argentinian humorist), Valu, Ernesto "Che" Guevara (Argentine Marxist revolutionary, politician, author, physician, military theorist, and guerrilla leader) and Hugo (same as Pili). The lower part of the photo represents a part of the CARC stadium

Hi Wilfredo, I like the colorful graffito but I'm sorry to hear about poor Valu's fate. :-( How old was he? The moral: remember to fasten your safety belt. p.s. Isn't the guy in the middle Che? Which one is then Valu - the long haired one on Ernesto's right?

Hi ! Valu was 17... he is represented by the heart situated in the middle that says Valu, sorry if I forgot to explain :S . And yes, the guy in the middle is "Che" Guevara.

Hi,Will! Loved your choice..., only that I'd rather choose one about Newell's Old Boys...;-) For the non-Argentinian participants here, both Central and Newell's are the two traditional football teams, rivals for years now. You should see Rosario (our city) every time the two teams play a match together!! The city rocks!!!

Thanks, Rita, it's good to hear a bit about football in your town. Our town is a very small one. We only have 1 team here as far as I know (hope my students will correct me if I'm wrong) called HIT Gorica. We have some football fans here too, but we aren't really a football nation I think.

I think we are better at playing basketball than we are at playing football. There are many NBA players from our country. Like Primož Brezec, Rašo Nesterovič, Beno Udrih, Goran Dragić, Boštjan Nahbar. I think to this Evro champion we are going to take one of first three places.

In Slovenia football is not so interesting to watch as it is in other big countries, such as Italy, Spain, England, etc., where the players are paid very very well. In Slovenia the pay is not so good so we don't have many good players and teams,And for these reasones a lot of Slovenin fotball player go overboard to play fotball where the pay is bigest.

Hi Aleks! Accidents happen, sometimes we can avoid them sometimes not. I like the bright colours and happy faces on this graffiti. They suggest life goes on one way or another... no need to worry too much. ;-)
